Destrier's Gait consists of a group of like minded individuals who forsake conventional thought and compose songs laden with the emotion and thrill of battle, glory, conquest and freedom.
"Being a thrash metal band is certainly not easy, considering the state of the industry today," notes Craig Sefcik, guitarist. "There is so much superficiality, so much false intent and so much boring writing saturating music right now. We literally spit directly in the face of that; our style of music isn't in the limelight, but it's what we feel, what we connect with. It's what makes us who we are, and sets us apart from those whose only intent is to make 'color by numbers' songs that appeal to the youth demographic."
Originality is a trait many bands today lack, but Destrier's Gait has it in spades. Doused with an almost unyielding alternate picking technique, DG tracks assault listeners' ears with a full on aural onslaught. It doesn't take long for listeners to realize that these guys have not only tremendous talent, but a passion for divergent song writing.
"I don't think any of our songs follow a traditional 'order' haha," Craig quips. "You won't find any 'verse-chorus-cerse-chorus-bridge-chorus-chorus' shit here. A lot of times we don't repeat any single measure or section of a song, which sometimes bums me out because the riffs are all so fun to play, but it keeps our sound fresh and organic."
